I am starting a project that needs small SBC with the following parameters:
Cellular connectivity
Accepting power from 12-30V AC (or DC if no AC option)
One wire interface for connecting a bunch of thermal sensors
Ability to work at direct sunlight in tropical areas
1 or 2 digital outputs for controlling large scale SSR
The system must be robust enough to “survive” the installation by unexperienced personnel that are used to work with high power cables and concrete blocks. It also has to be tolerable to frequent power outages.
Can anyone recommend the best configuration?
Which one is most cost effective?
Which platform will have stable SW stack? A plan to let some AI do the SW work since I have no experience in it.
Thanks to anyone for sharing his knowledge / experience.
It seems some of your requirements relate to an enclosure.
Make sure you design or use an enclosure that fits your needs and the electronics, and that the PCB meets the mechanical requirements of that enclosure.
I’ve added some ‘Circle Cuts’ (actually, these are holes in the PCB) near the corners, so I’ll be able to mount the PCB to a future enclosure we may plan.
I have to decide which platform to take iMX93 or iMX8?
Do you know which one has better SW support? I’ll need a one-wire over GPIO driver, it would be nice if it already exist in the platform SW stack. Any info about it?
